HDPE Gas Supply Pipe

  • Detailed Description

PE (Polyethylene) gas pipelines are widely applied in gas transmission. Favored by numerous customers for many advantages including long‑term service life, outstanding corrosion resistance, reliable joint performance, high safety performance, as well as low construction and maintenance costs.

According to different raw‑material grades, polyethylene gas pipes are classified into two grades: PE80 and PE100. According to the standard dimension ratio, they are divided into two series: SDR11 and SDR17.6. The SDR11 series is suitable for the transmission and distribution of various gaseous media such as natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (gaseous) and manufactured gas, while the SDR17.6 series is applicable to natural gas transmission and distribution.

Product Features:
(1) Excellent corrosion resistance. It solves the problems of corrosion and joint leakage occurring in steel pipes and cast‑iron pipes, thus ensuring the safe operation of the gas pipeline network system.
(2) Smooth inner wall. The PE material adopted for PE gas pipes is chemically inert and resistant to erosion by various chemical media. The pipe wall features a low friction coefficient, small flow resistance and high conveying capacity.

(3) Electro‑fusion connection is adopted. The joint strength is higher than that of the pipe body. The elongation at break of high‑toughness PE generally exceeds 500%, which well guarantees the sealing performance at joints of gas pipelines.

(4) PE gas pipelines deliver favorable seismic performance, with good resistance to Slow Crack Growth (SCG), Rapid Crack Propagation (RCP), high flexibility and scratch‑resistant capacity.

(5) PE gas pipelines have strong adaptability to uneven foundation settlement and high wear resistance. Multiple trenchless construction methods are available, which greatly facilitates construction and installation. With low system cost and less maintenance expense, it can substantially cut project costs.
